What is Real Estate Drip Email Marketing?

Drip email marketing in real estate is an email campaign that slowly and steadily trickles (or drips) information to your buyers and sellers to help them move along the pathway to buying or selling their home. Rather than sending out a huge email blast, these drip emails are precise and targeted. In other words, they’re always relevant to the person you’re sending them to.

Every drip email needs to offer something of value that makes the buyer or seller want to click on the email and take action, even a small action, closer to their end goal.

How Do You Write a Great Drip Email?

The essentials of a great real estate drip email are to make it personal and relevant (even though it is largely automated). Follow these email steps when writing your headline:

The “From” Line

The From line should always be credible, someone that they trust. Ideally, the “from” should be you, the agent who they know and have a relationship with: “From: [Your Name}” If you don’t think they’ll recognize your name, the put “From: [Your Name] at [Your Realty Office]”

The Subject Line

The subject line is your attention grabber and it’s going to make all the difference in the world as to whether or not they open the link. You want it to be irresistible, urging them to open the email. BUT: you don’t want to be sensational or flashy, because you’ll sound like an advertisement. Sound personal and conversational, but have something worthwhile to say. (We’ll look at some examples below.)

Interesting and Relevant Content

You want the body of the email to tell your readers something that they didn’t know before, in a way that shows them you’re not just wasting their time. You want the email to be relevant to them and where they are along their journey.

Real Value

Your email should offer some real, tangible value. You want them to finish reading your email and be better off for it.

Mobile-Friendly

The majority of emails are read on mobile devices now, and you don’t want a pretty template to be totally skewed and out of frame because it’s not compatible with their phone.

Call To Action

Every email should invite your reader to take some action.
