Why we don’t care what printing companies think

Some of the things we do here with our print format newsletters upset printing companies.

Now, I’m not in the business of upsetting people.

But sometimes… well, it just can’t be helped.

However, there are very good reasons why we do it this way.

In fact, there are two of them.

First, printing companies don’t like the fact that we provide you with Word documents. They prefer using professional publishing software like Adobe InDesign.

The thing is, we want you to be able to edit your newsletters to make them exactly how you want them, if you wish. So that’s why we make them in Word, which is software that most people have.

The second thing that printing companies don’t like is that our newsletters are not full of glossy pictures and colors.

Again, there’s a good reason for this: it’s because we want your newsletters to be effective.

In the fight to be seen in mailboxes, you need to stand out. If your newsletter looks like a brochure or other marketing material, it is more likely to be trashed.

Instead, we make your newsletter look like a real, valuable communication – something you might get from your child’s school or from someone whose opinions are important to you.

So we make them a little plain.

The trouble is, printing companies like to show how pretty all their printing is. Our plain newsletters don’t help them to do that.

No matter!

All that we care about is that your newsletters are as effective as they can be.

Try them for yourself. We have print format newsletters – and email format newsletters too!
