Stepping out onto that glass ledge

Did you hear about the glass floor, 1,353 feet up at the Willis Tower in Chicago, that cracked this week?

When you’re standing in a transparent box, with nothing between you and the sidewalk except air, the last thing you want to hear is breaking glass.

Now, it wasn’t actually the glass that shattered, it was a protective coating. It does that from time to time, apparently.

But anyway.

Pretty frightening out there on the ledge.

People have a similar feeling when they send out their first newsletter.

After all, you’re putting yourself out there, particularly if – as I advise – you include a teaspoon of personal opinion.

What if no-one reads it? What if they hate it?

…what if they hate me?

Of course, none of that happens.

Instead, you start building long-term relationships, which is what this whole newsletter thing is all about.

But still.

I get it.

I felt the same.

You’re out there on a glass ledge and you don’t want it to crack under your feet.

If you decide to go for it, we are there to help you. We will offer you a live walk-through of our newsletter system and give you advice as you send out your first one.

We will hold your hand.

And when you’ve done it once, the second time is easy.
